23 Mar UAE’S DUBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TOPS MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA SAFE TRAVEL SCORE
Dubai Airport Second Highest Globally Among 474 Airports Evaluated by Safe Travel Barometer
MARCH 22, 2021: As the aviation industry braces itself for the years of recovery to achieve the pre-pandemic levels, there exists an immediate opportunity to develop a sustainable model and shape the future of aviation. Airports continue to evolve and invest in infrastructure, to ensure the well-being of their frontline and operational staff and towards passenger experience. Amid these changes, we are realizing transformational projects, including and not limited to contactless airport passenger experiences and the use of cameras and sensors to streamline crowd management across terminals.
Dubai International Airport led the charge among the airports assessed by Safe Travel Barometer across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. The airport, however, was tied closely with Hamad International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport – each airport achieved a Safe Travel Score of 4.4 out of 5 in February 2021. Other airports that were on heels with them were Turkey’s Istanbul Airport with a Safe Travel Score of 4.3 and Kuwait’s Kuwait International Airport at 4.2.
